Penny Pullan is the founder of Making Projects Work Ltd., a new training
and facilitation company based in the UK.
She's a creative
and innovative leader, with the ability to think 'outside the box'
and with the passion and drive to make things happen.
A successful
track record in Consultancy, Training and Facilitation in blue chip
multi-nationals over fifteen years has led Penny to start up her
own company. She focuses on identifying organisational needs and
devising unique solutions to make projects and programmes work.
Penny believes that it is people who make projects work - when they
are able to engage with each other and have the tools they need
to do the job, in a way that makes the most of their strengths.
Penny is acknowledged
as a change ambassador, who demonstrates a high level of strategic
thinking, pulling together a group of individuals to act as one
and raising performance to the next level. When working on child
labour issues on cocoa farms, for example, she mediated between
African governments, chocolate company executives, non-governmental
organisations and the United Nations, to deliver a co-ordinated
approach.
Penny discovered
Graphical Facilitation
in 2001 and was amazed at the power of combining powerful yet simple
visuals with group facilitation - it allows people to literally
'see what they mean'. She experienced a dramatic increase in people's
engagement with actions as well as improved communication during
meetings. In Mars Inc. she set up a community of practicing facilitators
around the world to maximise the benefits to the company of using
these skills.
Penny is a Certified
Professional Facilitator of the IAF
and has a variety of Project and Programme Management qualifications.
She's also a chartered Engineer and has a Ph.D.
