Maria was born near the Southwest border of Germany and her people extend another 50 km into France, all speaking the same dialect and growing the same beautiful wine and fruit.
She has been living in Aotearoa/NZ for the last 21 years. Her work over that time included extensive involvement in Community Development, Adult Education, NGO Management and Conservation.
She started out with a Masters of Science, then got sidetracked into a Diploma for Tertiary Teaching, became a Trainer for Project Adventure NZ and also explored psychodrama, sociodrama and metaphoric approaches to conflict resolution. The Zenergy Diploma allowed her to combine many of these learnings into a unique approach for facilitation.
She completed Te Pokaitahi Rumaki Reo Maori Level 4 and continues to work extensively with Maori organisations and individuals. Client groups range from youth to corporate leaders and include many different cultural settings.
Her current passion is the development of the ‘Ecology of Facilitation’ – an approach that includes wilderness settings and tools as an amplifying ingredient in facilitation and coaching situations.
Together with her partner, she is caretaker for 98 acres of native forest where they look after the health of the forest as well as making it available as a facilitation and retreat venue.
She is a keen organic gardener, loves books and in that elusive free time designs mosaics.
