Zenergy Books used in Mozambique Health Renewal Programme

"The Training for Health Renewal Program (THRP) is an exciting international health initiative that links institutions and communities in Mozambique with institutions and communities in Canada. It is a co-operative partnership between the University of Saskatchewan and the Mozambique Ministry of Health that led to the creation of the Massinga Health Training Center in rural Inhambane in 2001. Both pre-service training and continuing education focus on improving health worker practice of community health. Key elements of the methodology are community-based training and teaching that encourages learning via inductive, discovery-based and participatory approaches. We link training of trainers to train others with building up the capacity of communities to be involved in making their communities healthy. To encourage and guide community-based training in the provinces, THRP and the Massinga Center took on the role of developing (in Portuguese) educational materials that are relevant and engaging. One result is a series of three handbooks on Facilitation. The Zen of Groups and The Art of Facilitation have been important resources to draw on as we build these facilitation skills.”

Best wishes,
Joanne, Don & Murray on behalf of the Training for Health Renewal Program team

IAF North America Baltimore in June

Dr. Dale Hunter was in Baltimore for a few days attending IAF Board meetings and leading a one-day pre-conference workshop entitled "Person Centered Facilitation". Dale said she is going back to the drawing board to find a more accessable way into facilitation coming from whole personhood (expanded consciousness) rather than personality. "Question: How can I get this across in one day without sounding esoteric?"

Tuatahi, ngä mihi ki a Io, nana i whakatinana te ao nei. (Greetings first to the Creator) Ki ngä Rangatira a Zenergy, kei te mihi, kei te mihi (many greetings to the awesome Zenergy leaders)

My whänau have supported me throughout my Zenergy journey, especially my partner, Peter who has taken time to support me with a very little babe as I attended workshops, and then put my learning in to practice at home and out in the community. Thank you my darling.

Now that I have really graduated what have I accomplished? I know that I back myself as a confident coach and facilitator. I look for new challenges to help me grow and learn new ways of working with folk... I've picked up your (Dale's) curiosity about how I can see and explore more. I'm committed to the growth of the Zenergy Community and the development of Mäori facilitators.

And I'm off on another adventure with our 5th (and last?) babe due mid January 2006.
